This provision does not affect the ability of the
DFSA to seek leave to appear in proceedings as amicus curiae (i.e. someone not a party to a case, who volunteers to offer information to assist a court in deciding a matter before it), to make submissions on an issue of significance to theDIFC , or to place material before theCourt that may otherwise not be available.Added by Notice of Updates (Made 23rd November 2014). The
DFSA will generally only exercise this right of intervention where it forms the view that it will not be able to meet its objectives by simply appearing as amicus curiae and that, to serve the interests of theDIFC fully, it is necessary to join the proceeding as a party and stay involved in the matter throughout.Added by Notice of Updates (Made 23rd November 2014).
